Randall Rosenthal: Master Carver, Mind-Blowing Painter

Today's artist on spotlight is a man named Randall Rosenthal. He is a master woodcarver and extremely talented painter. All of Randall's works of art start off as one block of wood and are painstakingly carved and hand painted into these mind blowing illusions. What caught my eye was this particular work of art appropriately titled "Old Money".  This series of photos will show the transition from block of wood to work of art. Enjoy!

It's hard to  imagine that this finished product was once just a solid block of wood!

Funny but True: Monday's suck because we're adults and responsible!

Funny but True: Monday's suck because we're adults and responsible! And what I mean by responsible is that we have to work now  for 5 days in a row to pay our bills (and for most of us, our debts!)

(How we all feel every Sunday!) 

The truth is, growing up into an adult isn't always what's cracked up to be. 

Remember when over the weekend you could get away with this ?

 

Or this?? Most of us would be recovering for 2 months if either of those scenarios happened today! 

Another shitty reality of growing up is so do the ladies...

Cool Material Alert: Clever Remodeling Ideas for your House

So I recently came across this really cool article about Clever House Remodeling ideas. I liked it so much that I wanted to share it in my blog! Some of these ideas are really practical and easy to execute while other ideas were a little complex and un-realistic unless you have a huge-house-renovations budget.

Alas, here are the Clever Remodeling Ideas for your House;

1. Lower your living room to give a feeling of intimacy which creates a great conversational pit with maximum comfort.

2. Convert your attic into a pillow room! Hugh Hefner did! 

3. Convert the back of your staircase into a library! It's use of space is genius and it makes you look smart and cultured.

4. Use that negative space under your stairs for storage! Or to stash your children during dinner parties!

5. Or turn that space into a Book-Nook. It's private and can be very comfortable! Beware anybody who is claustrophobic! 

6. Or turn that space into a pet house! Your animals will love it! Beware anyone who can't fit into that area. Your animals will crap there!

7. Have a dishwasher in your kitchen? Why not have 2 smaller ones? (Ya this doesn't make much sense to me either, but it looks cool!)

8. Tree house! You know you want one!

9. Turn a garden shed or green house into a cozy, outside office! Or somewhere to light up your hookah! 

10. (For brand new homes still in construction phase) Install pest control IN walls before dry wall. Smart idea for anyone planning on having pests in their house!

11. Baseboard Cupboards!!! You can never have enough storage in your kitchen!

12. Hidden Rooms? Why the H not?!?

13. Magnetic Walls! You can even throw on a metal jacket and have hours of fun!

14. S Shape Shower Seat! Say that 10 times fast! This is meant for people who have a lot of time on their hands!

15. High ceilings? Ever consider a ceiling canopy?

16. Walk in Shower anybody? You never have to worry about cleaning your shower doors again! And you feel like a car every time you take a shower!

17. Install chutes in your kitchen walls! They can be for recycling, garbage or whatever you want!

18. Platform Storage! You can do this with a spare bedroom or a guest room. It turns useless space to storage base where you can hide all of the stuff you hoard!

19. Install bar rail on your patio. This is a great idea to add more "put-down-stuff" space.

20. We've all seen this space before. You walk into a house and look up and you have 20 ft ceilings. Waste of space! Turn that space into a playroom for your kids! If you really love your kids!

21. Install a second mini fridge in your kitchen! You can never have enough cold storage space for your beers!

22. Add a movable island/storage space in your kitchen. This will add extra counter space in desperate times in need!

23. Turn boring/dead space into a wine rack! This way you can make grabbing that bottle of wine between rooms that much easier! 

24. Baseboard Vacuum! Enough said!

25. Bunk Beds! Also, enough said! 

26. Turn your boring ceiling into a star gazing sun room! But beware when it's sunny outside you will unwillingly turn your room into a sauna!

27. Turn that boring fireplace you have into a framed seating area! Suggestion? Add cushions!  

28. Add that Master bedroom balcony! You deserve it!
